Who We Are
Reconciliation Outreach was founded in 1987 by Dorothy Moore as an outreach to inner city kids and has grown as a leader in urban services to men, women, and children and one of the largest providers of rehabilitative faith-based residential services in the city of Dallas. Our mission is to establish a strong viable community within the inner city of Dallas and to provide a safe, loving environment for healing lives, restoring families, individuals and at-risk children and youth to a productive lifestyle.
Reconciliation Outreach provides services in Old East Dallas to the homeless, the addicted, the impoverished and working poor that includes a diverse ethnic population (62% African American, 31% Anglo, 5% Hispanic, and 2% other), consisting of 63% male and 37% female and ages ranging from infants to 60 years of age.
Our current programs are: a men’s and women’s rehabilitative residential
program designed for individuals and
single mothers with life controlling
problems of addiction, homelessness,
criminal history and abuse; affordable
and transitional housing in a safe,
livable environment; children and youth
programs involving a licensed after
school program and summer camps; Reconciliation
Industries, a work program that provides
job readiness training, job skills,
and develops a marketable work ethic
for residents of the program; prison
aftercare program that helps ex-offenders
get their lives permanently back on
track.
